By adding sound to the film opening it creates enigma for the audience and gives an indication as to watch genre it is. The sound creates a mood and setting in which the rest of the film can be based off of. Our group decided on looking into different types of sounds that will fit with the scenes at particular times and what wouldn’t. Also thinking about the diegetic sounds and non-diegetic sounds for example the dialogue which occurs from the actors and the background noise from the restaurant; also the train passing in the train station.
We were looking for a smooth sound which represents the scene happening in the first scene; we wanted the audience to be relaxed and enjoy the scene however the second piece of sound is dramatic and tension building to entice the audience and make them on edge and watch the rest of the film. Both pieces of sound represent the genre because the first piece is the romantic side of the film and the second half is the drama side and it creates enigma for the audience.
We looked at royalty free music and came across a few websites that interested us and we thought that they would be useful in the editing process; we looked on you tube and found the best results and also Ben sound however could not upload onto the blog.
